Tokio Marine & Nichido Risk Consulting (TdR) and Private AI are initiating a strategic business partnership to support Japanese companies in promoting AI utilization.

Through this partnership, TdR will provide comprehensive support to lead companies to successful AI implementation by combining advanced AI risk management with cutting-edge AI technology.

Background

In recent years, with the advancement of machine learning and AI technologies, more companies are implementing technologies such as image recognition, voice authentication, and fraud detection in business settings, significantly improving convenience across society. However, as AI technology becomes more widespread, new risks have also emerged. Just as the spread of PCs and the internet created the cybersecurity market, the importance of "AI security" to protect AI systems themselves is expected to rapidly increase.

Currently, in business environments, managing and utilizing unstructured data (e.g., emails, voice recordings, document files, etc.), which accounts for approximately 80% of corporate data, has become a major challenge in promoting AI utilization. One of the reasons is that much of this data consists of natural language, making it technically difficult to process appropriately while protecting privacy. Therefore, as one of the initiatives for "AI security" to achieve successful AI utilization, it is urgent for companies to consider and implement measures to ensure privacy, personal information protection, and information asset protection in AI utilization.

Advanced Capability Specialized for Japanese Language: The proprietary machine learning algorithm supports 52 languages including Japanese. Particularly for Japan-specific data types (e.g., My Number, Japanese addresses, disease names, etc.), it achieves high-precision detection and masking using AI trained on large volumes of data, going beyond simple rule-based approaches. This supports safe data utilization compliant with domestic and international regulatory environments.
High-Precision Data Processing Based on Legal Compliance and Context: It achieves high-precision data processing in compliance with various laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Law and GDPR, for diverse confidential information such as PII (Personally Identifiable Information), PHI (Personal Health Information), PCI (Payment Card Information), and CCI (Corporate Confidential Information). Its context-aware processing capability enables data utilization that combines reliability and safety.
Support for Various Types of Unstructured Data: It can comprehensively process a wide range of unstructured data formats, including emails, call center records, and handwritten text. This provides new possibilities for effectively utilizing data that was previously difficult to leverage while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
On-Premises Deployment Capability: Private AI adopts an API model provided in Docker container format. With this architecture, companies can flexibly deploy solutions within their on-premises environment or selected public cloud while ensuring security.
