SmartPlus Launches Bond Trading on its "Brokerage-as-a-Service" Platform

SmartPlus, part of the Finatext Group that realizes embedded finance through the provision of next-generation financial infrastructure, has updated the functions of its securities business platform "BaaS (Brokerage as a Service)" and is now offering bond trading services.

Background and Purpose

With the recent rise in long-term interest rates, there is increasing demand from investors seeking stable yields. In response to these changing market conditions, SmartPlus is adding bond trading to its "BaaS" platform, which has primarily offered stocks and investment trusts, to provide partner companies' customers with a wide range of financial products.

Partner companies that have implemented "BaaS" can handle financial products according to their needs. Bond handling will be added based on the requests of companies using "BaaS."

Services Launching Bond Trading

As the first phase, the following partner companies will offer U.S. dollar-denominated bonds (public and corporate bonds) selected by SmartPlus on the securities trading platform "Digital Wealth Manager (DWM)":

  • Amber Asset Management
  • CS Asset

The service will initially offer relatively high-yield U.S. dollar-denominated bonds, with plans to further expand the product lineup in the future.

"DWM" is a securities trading platform that enables brokers/intermediaries to easily and quickly provide self-branded discretionary investment management services, as well as selected investment trusts and bonds, and comes pre-loaded with the active discretionary investment management service "+Alpha," which invests in listed Japanese and U.S. stocks.

About BaaS

"BaaS" is a securities business platform that provides API-based systems necessary for offering securities services, managing all external connections on the cloud. The front-end system is separated from the middle/back-end systems, making it easy to develop services tailored to customers' requirements and flexibly respond to changes in external environments such as legal systems. By implementing securities services using "BaaS," companies can deploy high-value-added unique services at low cost and with speed.

BaaS Reference Implementations:

  • Seven Bank - "Shopping Investment Collekabu"
