Nudge Obtains License for Credit Limits exceeding JPY 100,000

Nudge has obtained a license as a "Certified Comprehensive Credit Purchase Intermediary" based on the Installment Sales Act.
When entering the credit card business as a startup, Nudge initially operated as a "Small-Amount Comprehensive Credit Purchase Intermediary", offering credit cards with limits of 100,000 yen or less using its proprietary screening model that does not rely on attribute information such as workplace or employment duration. Nudge has expanded its support mainly among young people seeking their first credit card, thanks to the ease of checking usage status through a smartphone app, payment flexibility, and stylish card designs.
In response to user requests for more flexible credit assessments with increased limits based on usage patterns—as the card became more widely used as a main payment method for everyday shopping, travel expenses, and hobby payments—Nudge has obtained certification as a "Certified Comprehensive Credit Purchase Intermediary." With this certification, Nudge becomes the fourth company in Japan to be certified as a "Certified Comprehensive Credit Purchase Intermediary," allowing it to set credit limits exceeding 100,000 yen.
Strengthening Business Foundation with New License
The "Certified Comprehensive Credit Purchase Intermediary" and "Small-Amount Comprehensive Credit Purchase Intermediary" systems were established by the revised Installment Sales Act enforced in April 2021, with the aim of responding to advancements in information technology and creating an environment where diverse payment methods can be provided safely and securely.
With this certification, Nudge can continue to utilize its proprietary screening model that does not depend on attribute information, while now being able to set more flexible credit limits according to each user's credit status and usage history, without the restriction of "limits of 100,000 yen or less."
Nudge Card has continuously improved its service by sincerely responding to user feedback, aiming to be "an easier-to-use first card." Through this certification, Nudge will accelerate its business growth so that Nudge Card can be chosen by more people as their first credit card and serve as a card that plays an active role not only in everyday use but across all lifestyle needs.
