KDDI joins the Bifrost network as a node validator

KDDI has decided to participate as a node validator in the Bifrost Network. Through this partnership, KDDI will contribute to strengthening security on the Bifrost network and support its penetration into the Japanese market. KDDI has re-affirmed this partnership by listing Bifrost as one of its key Web3 initiatives during FIN/SUM this week.

Bifrost is a project to improve the interoperability of blockchains, and has introduced the Bitcoin Relaying Protocol (BRP) to promote decentralization, a fundamental principle of blockchain technology. This protocol allows native BTC deposit and withdrawal processes to be verified by a decentralized validator network, achieving higher security and transparency. KDDI will strengthen the decentralization of the Bifrost network and support Bifrost's expansion in the Japanese market by taking on the role of a reliable validator operation, leveraging its track record of building communication infrastructure. KDDI will continue to support the infrastructure of various Web3 projects as a validator, supporting their expansion in the Japanese market and other areas, and will also support other businesses in participating as validators by building nodes and providing operation and maintenance services.

Previously, in October 2024, Bifrost had announced a strategic partnership with, and investment in Japan Open Chain.

About Bifrost

Bifrost is a multi-chain Layer 1 network that supports both EVM and non-EVM environments, providing an optimized infrastructure for the development of decentralized applications (DApps).

Bifrost's Cross-Chain Communication Protocol (CCCP) and Bitcoin Relaying Protocol (BRP) ensure that all transactions are verified by distributed relayers. Bifrost's validator network is also fully decentralized, providing reliable transaction verification. In addition, the Multi-Sig Vault system provides a mechanism for safe storage of assets in the network.

Through this robust infrastructure, Bifrost has built a network that combines high security and complete decentralization, setting a new standard in blockchain-based financial services.
