Incubate Fund establishes "IFLP Fund 3" for LP investments in independent seed funds

Incubate Fund has formed a new "IFLP Fund 3."

1. IFLP Fund

"IFLP" has grown as Japan's only model aiming to maximize networking opportunities between individual GPs of independent seed funds and LPs. It continues to develop with a focus on building strong communities among supported GPs, the entrepreneurs they invest in, and their LP investors.

The "IFLP Fund 1," established in 2018 with 6.9 billion yen, had invested as an LP in 17 funds as of the end of December 2024, executing investments in over 300 startup companies through these funds. Multiple companies have already achieved IPOs, while other companies continue to grow steadily.

Additionally, the "IFLP Fund 2," established in 2021 with 10 billion yen, has already completed the incorporation of 16 funds and is advancing investments in over 100 diverse startups. Similar to "IFLP Fund 1," investments in startup companies are expected to exceed 300.

Based on this track record of promoting the birth and growth of various startups through support for seed funds, Incubate Fund has established the new "IFLP Fund 3." This fund will not only drive further expansion of the ecosystem but also aims to be larger than the previous fund, working to support more seed funds and entrepreneurs.

2. About IFLP Fund 3

Following "IFLP Funds 1 & 2," "IFLP Fund 3" will make LP investments in GPs who share Incubate Fund's investment philosophy of "Zero to Impact" and "First Round, Lead Position, Build Industries."

This fund will also support the challenges of promising new GPs with potential, helping to expand independent seed funds with diverse concepts such as regional development, technology specialization, and overseas market expansion, and promoting the creation of diverse startups.

Furthermore, Incubate Fund will maximize the use of various programs it operates (Incubate Camp, Pitch Day, etc.) and work closely with Partner Funds to create opportunities for co-investment and business collaboration with startups.

3. Vision for IFLP Fund 3

This fund has diverse investors, including corporations and financial institutions. Through collaboration with these diverse investors, Incubate Fund will expand the framework for supporting startup growth and create an environment where entrepreneurs across Japan can easily take on challenges.

Additionally, Incubate Fund will contribute to sustainable growth of the Japanese economy by accelerating new business creation and collaboration with startups for corporations and financial institutions.

In this fund, participation of regional corporations and financial institutions is accelerating more than in the previous fund, and Incubate Fund will strive to produce many successful cases that contribute to regional economic revitalization and examples of cross-regional collaboration.

Incubate Fund will continue to support independent seed funds and work toward further development of the startup ecosystem.
