Golomt Bank secures green loan from Saison Investment Management

Mongolia's Golomt Bank today announced its second successful loan arrangement from Saison Investment Management Private Limited (SIMPL). SIMPL is the cross-border lending arm of Saison International, the international headquarters of Japan’s Credit Saison, a global financial company that is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The proceeds of the loan will be focused on loans by micro-small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) for the purposes of eco vehicles, green housing, procurement of green products and more as defined by the Green Loan Principles and according to the Mongolian Green Taxonomy. This also enables Golomt Bank to further its commitment to financing environmentally responsible projects in accordance with Mongolian Green Taxonomy while enhancing its suite of financial services.

This green loan follows the initial tranche Golomt Bank received in April 2024 from SIMPL, which focused on promoting financial inclusion, water and sanitation as well as affordable and accessible health services to micro-SMEs and retail borrowers.

SIMPL operates with a commitment to foster inclusive growth in emerging and frontier markets by providing debt financing to specialized financial services providers, early-stage and tech-enabled companies that operate at the intersection of inclusion and innovation in emerging and frontier markets such as Cambodia, Mongolia, and more.
