hokan has announced that Gen Tsuchikawa has been appointed Executive Advisor. Tsuchikawa has extensive knowledge of corporate management and a wide range of experience in domestic and overseas investment, IR, management, finance, etc., and hokan expects that he will be able to contribute significantly to improving the corporate value of the Group as it accelerates its business development in the future. In addition to receiving valuable advice and support regarding management strategies in the insurance industry, which has been undergoing rapid changes in recent years, hokan also sees him as an ambassador to strengthen external relationships.
Profile
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at Hitotsubashi University in 1984, Tsuchikawa joined the Industrial Bank of Japan. He obtained an MBA from Stanford University in 1988. After working at Merrill Lynch, he joined Sony in 2004. He served as Head of IR in 2008, Head of Corporate Development at the headquarters in 2011, CSO of Sony Mobile in 2014, Chief Investment Manager of Sony Innovation Fund in 2016, CEO of Innovation Growth Ventures in 2019, and CEO and CIO of Sony Ventures from 2022, before retiring in 2024.
Tsuchikawa said, “I have been approached by hokan about becoming an Executive Advisor and have officially accepted the role. I have had a long-standing relationship with hokan Inc. and its leadership team since my time at Sony Ventures, and I am honored to be able to deepen our relationship.
Hokan has taken a thoroughly customer-oriented approach and has strengthened its business while working with its customers to improve the convenience of its services, and is a company that is expected to continue to grow even further in the future.
We expect that the high perspective and insight of the hokan management team will enable us to steadily operate our current business while also responding flexibly to changes in the times. As Executive Advisor, I will do my best to support these efforts.
Overview of the hokan platform
“hokan” is a customer and contract management system specialized for insurance agencies that can centrally manage information from prospects to maintenance and connect it to information aggregation/analysis. Since its release in 2018, the number of customers has increased, and in 2022, it was introduced to agencies and branches nationwide.
It is characterized by ease of use, flexibility in customization, support capabilities, and the ability to update products while listening to customer requests, and it streamlines the administrative work that is increasing due to the revised Insurance Business Act. It is used by a variety of agencies, including corporate agencies, life insurance, non-life insurance, and joint insurance.
