Enhancement of “SMBC Elder Program” services

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation will enhance its services for the “SMBC Elder Program,” which was launched in April 2021, effective November 1, 2024.

Since its launch, the program has been well-received by many customers. To further meet their customers’ diverse needs, SMBC has formed new partnerships with seven companies.

SMBC aims to strengthen their services in both financial and non-financial areas, transforming their customers’ concerns about the 100-year life era into peace of mind, and strongly supporting them in enriching their valuable time ahead.

  • Gourmet-Related Services
    Customers can purchase a wide range of products including specialty wines that enrich daily life and add color to lifestyle at special first-time discounts.

  • Magazine Subscription Services
    Customers can subscribe to monthly magazines featuring various themes for enjoying daily life with special first-time benefits.
    Provider: Halmek Corporation
    Customers can subscribe to part-work collections with regular delivery of necessary materials and magazines for making and collecting, with special benefits.

  • Lifestyle Services
    Special pricing for flower gifts, gardening, funeral services, and home party design.

    Special pricing for electric beds, mattresses, and other items supporting sleep, relaxation, comfortable living, and health.

  • Fitness-Related Services
    Special membership pricing for sports clubs promoting health, along with discounted personal training programs.

SMBC Elder Program Overview

Eligible Customers

  • Individual customers (excluding minors) who designate their SMBC ordinary deposit account as a dedicated account for the SMBC Elder Program and maintain specified assets with the bank
  • Requires ¥10 million or more with the bank and a designated amount in the dedicated account

Content

  • Dedicated Elder Concierge assigned to customers, providing regular visits and phone calls, along with digital tools to confirm customer safety and security and support various procedures
  • Discounted or free fees for various banking services including “Safety Deposit Boxes,” “Testament Trust,” “Gift-related Services,” “Regular Automatic Transfer <Kichinto Furikomi>,” “SMBC Digital Safety Box,” etc.
  • Option to add “Asset Succession Special Agreement”
  • Introduction to partner companies providing affiliated services such as “Health Consultation,” “Monitoring,” “Housekeeping,” and “End-of-life Planning” to enrich customers’ lives. Customers can use these affiliated services with discounts and special benefits.

Fees

  • Monthly fee: ¥9,900 (including tax) / ¥9,000 (excluding tax)
  • Free for family contract holders under the Family Plan service
