DBJ launched the first hybrid capital solutions fund jointly with INA

The Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) and the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA) have launched the "IJ Hybrid Capital Solution Fund I," a fund which will be jointly managed by the two institutions and offer hybrid capital solutions for Indonesian corporates.

INA is an Indonesia's sovereign wealth fund mandated to increase investment to support the country's sustainable development and build wealth for its future generations.

To date, DBJ has supported the economic growth of the Southeast Asian countries and the expansion of Japanese companies into the region through its investment activities. In this context, DBJ signed the Investment Framework Agreement with INA in November 2023 and have been exploring collaborative investment and financing opportunities for Indonesian corporates. Building on this strong relationship, the two institutions have now agreed to establish a jointly managed fund.

This fund provides hybrid capital solutions, offering tailored financing solutions to meet the unique and evolving financing needs of Indonesia's mid- and upper-market corporates. By leveraging DBJ's finance and investment experience as well as INA's deep understanding of local market, the fund will contribute to Indonesia's further economic development.

DBJ's corporate philosophy is to "apply financial expertise to design the future: to open up new frontiers as we resolve the issues of our clients and the community while promoting sustainable development for Japan and the world." In keeping with these principles, DBJ will further expand our investment activities in Indonesia to support Japanese companies who are looking to expand their business into the region.
