Creww Capital: New CVC Subsidiary

Open innovation specialist Creww has formed Creww Capital, a new subsidiary focused on Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) support and fund management. Launching in January 2025, Creww Capital will be co-led by Creww CEO Amane Ijichi and ABAKAM CEO Naoto Matsumoto.

Since 2012, Creww has orchestrated over 500 open innovation programs, resulting in approximately 1,350 partnerships between corporations and local governments. Recent examples from 2024 include the MoAP2024 Accelerator Program (Okayama City), the Toyota STARTUP CHALLENGE (Toyota City), and the Miyake Local Startup 2024 program (Miyake Town, Nara Prefecture), all designed to foster regional development through entrepreneurship.

Creww also manages an open innovation platform connecting nearly 8,000 registered startups with a global ecosystem, including partnerships in South Korea and Taiwan.

Creww Capital's creation comes in response to growing demand for supporting startups with global ambitions, expanding market opportunities for corporate partners, and facilitating collaboration with international businesses.

The new subsidiary will invest in startups both domestically and internationally, supporting their growth and co-managing and creating funds linked to regional open innovation initiatives.

Leveraging its extensive network and expertise, Creww aims to strengthen startup ecosystems across Asia and beyond, establishing a comprehensive new framework for investment and support.
